Once in awhile I'll have random posts like this, it'll be 1am and something pops into my mind and what I have to say is, take time out of your day to help the less fortunate. Donate, clothes, books, games, furniture, food, bottled water, anything that you know will benefit another human. Remember that one day (yup here comes the cliche) you could be like those people so show respect and always(here's another cliche) hold out a helping hand. Why did this pop into my head you're asking yourself? Well I'm pretty EVERYONE knows about the oilspill, well I can't stop thinking about those poor animals that are suffering from a tragic event. Also I just donated all of my childhood books to an organization called "Project Night Night"that gives homeless children a childhood in a bag basically. The children receive a canvas bag filled with age approiate books and a stuffed animals and a warm blanketm so if you have any of these items please donate them to this wonderful cause. Project Night Night.
Love you all...well most of you lol.

DON'T CALL ME A FASHIONISTA
DON’T CALL ME A FASHIONISTA
Hey guys guess what I’m officially a high school graduate. Yup I did it, June 10, 2010 in a white bohemian summer dress, silver ballet flats and topped off with a boho band on my head I did it I took a step closer to college and a step closer to becoming the Fashion Journalist I want to be in life. I am so proud of myself and my fellow classmates and I’m also proud of those false eyelashes. We all deserved it and worked super duper hard for it. Next step is to get to Chicago and become the Fashion Journalist I know I can be.
This brings me to my topic of the week “Don’t call me a fashionista”. Don’t call me a “fashionista” because I’m not. Now don’t get me wrong I love fashion I wouldn’t have a “fashion” blog if I didn’t or I wouldn’t be paying money to go to college to become a fashion journalist. Ever since I was a little girl I knew fashion is where I wanted to be so I’m certainly not trying to offend anyone.
Okay here is my idea on this whole “fashionista” thing, for one in my opinion any girl or boy that claims to be a fashionista has NO fashion sense. Here’s number two: I bet those people that claim to be fashionista’s don’t know anything about fashion. It saddens me when people talk about how interested in fashion they are but all they wear is Polo, nothing is wrong with Polo but, you do know Ralph Lauren makes other clothes besides Polo right? Wait hold on a second you did know Ralph Lauren is the guy that made Polo (and yes he is still alive)? Did you know Polo is a sport and that the style of shirt was actually worn by the players before they became a trend among country club members and they’re prep school children? I love Ralph Lauren for doing the whole Polo line but he’s not the only designer out there.
Okay everyone that knows me knows that I love Marc Jacobs, but do you know the history of Marc Jacobs? Well let me help you out. Marc Jacobs had a huge role in the nineties for the Grunge fashion movement. He also had his Grunge revival in 2006…and hopefully (I’m hoping) he does another Grunge revival because we need one. But I bet people who claim to “know” fashion didn’t know that.
Oh and those black and white quilted Chanel totes, there’s more to Chanel than just that bag. Coco Chanel or her real name Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel first got famous for making the LBD if you’re “into” fashion you know what LBD means if not its Little Black Dress she then introduced her fragrance Chanel no.5. And then came her famous bag you know the one that’s a shoulder bag quilted with a chain strap also the bag is actually called the “2/55” bag, named after the date the bag was released(February 1955). If you have a real 2/55 bag then you know it’s a pocket on the inside of the flap, and if you really know fashion history then you know that Chanel made that because she would hide her love letters from her lover in it.
So yes fashion is more than what’s out now everything we have is based on the past, haven’t you noticed this whole 80’s revival thing that has been going on for the past couple of years? That is exactly why I don’t want to be called a “fashionista” because fashionista’s are people that shop at the same stores, dress the same way, and know nothing about fashion. So you may be asking yourself ‘what do you I consider myself if not a fashionista?’ That’s simple…nothing. I don’t need a label to describe my love for fashion because not only do I make sure I watch every fashion show for all designers for all seasons I also read any book I can get my hands on about the past, present, and future of the fashion industry. I also keep an open mind about new designers, I don’t always want to be stuck on one designer, I want someone to ask me a question about a new designer in Europe and know who that designer is and what their clothes are about. As I said earlier I’m defiantly not trying to offend anyone but please be careful when you say that you “know fashion” and make sure you stay up to date and open minded. And before I forget let me give you a quick review on Sex and the City 2. Well it sucked. The fashion was okay I guess nothing really stood out to me except the dress that Carrie had on when she went to meet Aiden for dinner and the ring Mr. Big gave her towards the end was amazing. But other than those things nothing stood out about that movie, I was pretty disappointed, this past Saturday I went to see Karate Kid and I enjoyed myself so much more than I did when I saw Sex and the City 2 and of course I’m a Sex and the City fan but that movie made no sense to me. Oh well sequels either rock or go rock bottom. But all the ladies did look amazing…at least. Okay bye for now the next blog will be a surprise, for you guys and me ha-ha but trust me it won’t disappoint because I’m finally introducing my new photographer for The Fashion Wheel Marco Braddy, who’s not only one of my closest friends but also one of the best photographers I know. So I’m going to leave everything into Marco’s hands and see what turns out, can’t wait! Love you all…well most of you lol.

SOOOO SORRY I'M LATE GUYS
The Weekend I Found My Inner Carrie B.
Prom was the weekend of the 28th of May so was after prom(duh) my day started out pretty normal I went to prom had tons of fun and most of all I learned a huge lesson in life and let my inner Carrie Bradshaw shine through, I learned who true friends are and that the people you look down upon in school are the same people who will have the best looking date and dance moves. LOL. I also learned that your true friends are the ones that will laugh with you when you repeat saying “Out of control!” (lmao good times). I learned that I had the best prom date a girl could ask for. He is an AMAZING person regardless what some people may think of him. Oh and I learned how to dance (sort of) because of him. The one thing I learned that sticks out to me is that “prom queen” is only a title for the night, because soon we’re going to be doing bigger and better things, yeah its something to be happy about but soon we’re going to be freshmen all over again and no ones going to care if your “the prom queen’, “the class clown”, “the shy person”, or “the drama queen”.
We’re adults now guys and its scary but we have no choice, its time to stop acting like an annoying child picking fights at the dinner table with strangers and its time to sit up straight and learn how to ask for the dinner rolls properly. Okay all of this it sounding emotional but give me a break I’m going to never have an epiphany like this again LOL. So let’s get into the fashion of the weekend. Okay I hate saying best dress and all of that stuff but I NEED to say it this time, Latiesha Irons honestly in MY opinion had the most elegant, gorgeous, most unique dress out of everyone, Jasmine Stanberry’s dress was also very pretty…I’m sorry if I didn’t say anyone else but those are the two that stuck out to me the most. As everyone probably knows by now I’m the person who goes for the less obvious and those dresses were so not cliché. Its not that I have anything against poofy, princess dresses it’s just its prom…you have one in your lifetime why don’t you try to make a statement, but oh well it’s only my opinion : )
Okay if you read the last blog then you know what I wore, if this is your first time on my website than thanks for stopping by and please again some other time lol. Okay so I wore a cream (my date and I will have numerous discussions about this color lol) and a bronzy metallic colored shoe, with silver heart earrings and necklace to top it all off. My hair was pinned back with a silver hair comb on the left side and the rest was left down in very loose curls. My date wore a black suit with a white shirt underneath with a black and white tie with black shoes (very classy lol). YES I KNOW I HAD ON CREAM AND HE HAD ON WHITE SO FREAKIN’ WHAT? Its 2010 why the hell do we still need to be so damn matchy matchy all the damn time we still looked amazing regardless what anyone had to say.(which I doubt anyone said anything). The thing is I’m my own person I wear what I want and no one should care, this brings me to a very good example…my good friend Nehemiah Spencer wore the most different outfit out of all the guys…and girls. I loved the shorts he wore with the boots you were amazing Nemo lol. Everyone had an opinion on what he wore but my opinion is that he rocked prom out in his wickedly awesome outfit. Okay after prom was interesting…everyone wore nice stuff…no I’m serious everyone looked great especially Mari Russell, Mariam Newell, and Maya Jones.
This weekend was super fun even though I thought it would suck because of my major let down the day before prom it all fell into place thanks to Mario Pollard and Marco Braddy, who I LOVE so much because if it wasn’t for those two, me and my date wouldn’t of have been able to go to prom since our original ride totally dropped us at the last minute. Mario and Marco also showed me what having true friends are really like. Well I came in the house at 5am for the first time had, Pocky for the first time and really let my inner carefree Carrie Bradshaw finally come through. The last lesson that I learned was to never trust a false eyelash because they aren’t dependable and when they fall off they make you feel vulnerable, but all you have to realize is that they’re FAKE for a reason so never use them again and let your natural beauty shine through…you don’t need anything (or what I’m actually talking about ANYONE) holding you down, because the fakest always fall off eventually. This is enough until next time I hope everyone had an amazing and safe weekend...love you all…well accept for those false eyelashes lol no no just kidding I love everyone ...
P.S.
I saw SEX AND THE CITY 2…I have a lot to say about it…on the next blog of course.
